Dear Business Owners,

Hornell Partners for Growth, the City of Hornell and Steuben Church people Against Poverty, Inc (SCAP) are applying to the New York State Division of Housing & Community Renewal for grant funds to improve commercial and mixed use buildings in a targeted area of downtown Hornell.

This program would provide grant funds to reimburse building owners up to 50% of eligible costs for façade, commercial and residential renovations up to a maximum amount of $10,000 for facades and $50,000 for building renovations. The purpose of this program is to restore and preserve the historic beauty of downtown Hornell, create or rehabilitate upper floor residential units and rehabilitate or create commercial space.  There are no income guidelines for property/business owners to participate in this program.

Part of the application process is to identify potential property or business owners who would be interested in participating in this program if we were able to secure the funding.

If you would be interested, please fill out the attached Letter of Interest and return to us by March 19, 2007.
