Substitute Support Staff Opportunities
Applications for support staff substitutes (teacher aides, clerical staff, custodians, food service helper, school monitor, bus drivers etc.) are accepted on an ongoing basis. Those interested in applying for a position as substitute bus driver or as a substitute bus attendant should apply through RecruitFront.

The Hornell City School District is looking for substitute per diem support staff for the 2025-2026 school year. The substitute area titles are: Food Service Helpers, Laborers, Bus Drivers, Typists, School Nurses, Bus Attendants, Teachers, and Teacher Aides.

Job Qualifications
Applicants must meet Steuben County Civil Service requirements, Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and one year of full time or equivalent part time experience which shall have involved direction or oversight of the activities of children or youth.
The work involves responsibility for riding on a school bus for the purpose of maintaining order, supervising the boarding and disembarking of the bus, and providing special assistance to physically challenged students. The work is carried out in accordance with well-established, standard, and safe procedures and practices utilized in the transport of school students in New York State. Problem incidents are reported immediately to a supervisor for corrective action. Does related work as required. |
